3780 Error Code Messages and User Messages in FastSync® (FastSync 3780 DOS Version) |
ERROR CODE MESSAGES
These Error Codes relate to Install and Un-Install (Remove)
Procedures.
In this section you will see the terms MASTER PROGRAM and CLONE PROGRAM. MASTER refers to the original FastSync disk(s) you received. The CLONE term refers to any "copies" of FastSync that you have installed onto your hard disk media. Please note that not all of these error codes may apply to your particular software version. They do not apply to Unix or Xenix software versions.
00 - Installation Error On Master Program Medium!
This error occurs when the critical installation coding of your FastSync diskette does not verify. In other words, there is an error of some type with the FastSync diskette. Make sure the proper diskette is in the right drive. Perhaps the wrong diskette was inserted.
01 - Master Program Has No Remaining Installs!
This error occurs when you are attempting to install FastSync from a distribution diskette whose Installation Counter reads 000. In other words, all allowable installs were made from this distribution diskette, and no more are available. Please call CTI to proceed.
02 - Must Remove Clone Program Installation First!
This error occurs when you are attempting to create a copy of FastSync on a medium already containing FastSync. For example, if you installed FastSync, then attempted to re-install FastSync onto the same disk, this error occurs.
This error message occurs when you try to install FastSync with the DOS "copy" command instead of using the required FastSync install command (A: install A: C:).
03 - Installation Error On Master Program Medium!
This error occurs when a bad diskette sector is found on the FastSync distribution diskette.
05 - Installation Error On Clone Program Medium!
This error occurs when the critical installation coding was not properly written and verified on a specified medium. Try installing FastSync on a new medium.
06 - Invalid Master Program Diskette!
This error occurs when you are attempting to increment the Master Installation Counter of an invalid FastSync diskette. For example, you are removing FastSync from a given medium, and removable installs are allowed. Instead of inserting the FastSync distribution diskette into your selected drive, however, you insert some other diskette.
08 - Installation Error On Clone Program Medium!
This error occurs when an error is encountered writing the critical installation coding to a fixed medium. Try again, but if it recurs, there could be an error on the selected medium.
Are you installing onto a Network? If so, your install syntax is:
Hard Disk Prompt S:>A:INSTALL A: S: N
Where "S" is the network drive. The "N" tells the program to look for the software on a network.
09 - Critical Error When Attempting To Remove Installation!
This error occurs when an error is encountered attempting to remove FastSync from a specified medium. For example, if you attempted to remove FastSync from a floppy diskette that does not contain FastSync, this error message appears.
10 - Critical Drive Error!
This error occurs when an error is encountered with the selected drive. Try again, but if it recurs, there may be a problem with that drive.
14 - Invalid Media Type!
This error occurs when an invalid FastSync distribution diskette is inserted into a drive. The proper identity of this FastSync diskette could not be determined. Make sure you have the FastSync distribution disk in your drive. Otherwise, the diskette is most likely faulty.
15 - Invalid Media Type!
This error is similar to error 14, except it occurs when the proper identity of the copy of FastSync could not be determined. The selected medium is most likely faulty.
19 - Only Clone Program Installations Can Be Removed!
This error occurs when you are attempting to remove FastSync. Remember, only CLONE PROGRAMS are removed, and this error occurs whenever a non-CLONE PROGRAM is specified.
30 - File Servers Must Be On Non Floppy Media!
This error occurs when a multiple user environment is selected for install, but the medium is a floppy diskette. File server installs can ONLY occur to a fixed type medium.
250 - Process Aborted!
This occurs when a selected process is aborted.
252 - Invalid Master Program Drive Letter!
This error occurs when an invalid CLONE PROGRAM drive letter is specified. For example, drive A: is typed as A". Try again with the proper FastSync diskette drive letter.
253 - Invalid Installation Parameter!
This error occurs when an invalid parameter is passed to the install program. For example, the network parameter is typed as M instead of N. Try again with the proper parameters.
254 - DOS Version 2.00 Or Greater Is Required!
This error occurs when a DOS version lower than 2.00 is presently running in your system. Reboot with a version of DOS 2.00 or greater.
