3780 protocol is a micro-to-mainframe or PC to PC communications program initially developed by IBM that replaced their earlier 2780 file transfer (punch card) protocol.

Both 2780 and 3780 are known as Bi-synchronous Remote Job Entry (RJE) Protocols.

Besides handling typical RJE industry needs, CTI's FastSync® 3780 software has been enhanced to support the sophisticated and specialized E-commerce market environment whose software houses require highly distinct interface capabilities along with dynamic scripting language capabilities.

Depending upon the particular FastSync product, it runs within either various DOS and Microsoft Windows environments operating systems.

FastSync 3780 was designed for absolutely error free, maximum high speed data transfers.  FastSync is a very fast, easy to install, easy to use, powerful, and feature rich software package.

Over the years, the FastSync 3780 software has been ported to many existing and older synchronous interface cards and modem-boards.

The 3780 protocol operates within all electronic data commerce environments.  A few examples include: Automotive (Invoices, Releases, ASNs; and CAD/CAM/CAE/CIM file transfers), Retail (Point-of-Sale applications), Government (IRS Electronic Tax Filing), Transportation (Shipping & Trucking EDI), Banking & Financial (Automatic Teller Machines, Lock Boxes, Credit Card Verifications, Electronic Fund Transfers, Check Clearing), Health Care (Medical and Medicaid Billing), and Federal Reserve Transactions.

There are many EDI oriented software houses using FastSync 3780 communications software.  Such as ADS, Pro_EDI, Prospera (User-Friendly Software), BCG, and others.  Click here for E-Commerce.

One of the most popular 2780/3780 packages is the SyncPack2000e What's so special about this package?  It eliminates the need for either an internal or external expensive synchronous device to run bi-synchronous software!  This means no more opening the PC, no more configuration of IRQs and I/O addresses.  No more A/B switch boxes.  There's nothing else like it.  Operates on the basis of U.S. Patent 4,700,358 that provides a method by which a modem, using only those components required for asynchronous communications, can perform both synchronous and asynchronous communications and maintain compatibility with existing asynchronous data communication programs.  Connects to any 2780/3780 host in the world.
