CHRYSLER® EBMX HTTPs E-Business Messaging eXchange Hyper Text Transfer Protocol secure EDI Mailbox Program Fill-in this Form and request your free EBMX evaluation program. It will be E-mailed back to you |
This specially developed software product by CTI Communications is a client side application that allows Chrysler suppliers to obtain and deliver EDI, XML and other proprietary document data formats over the internet using SSI (Secure Socket Layer). SSI uses certificates (public/private key encryption) to verify the identity of the person you are connected to, and then encrypts document exchanges. According to Chrysler, "HTTP/S over the Internet appears to be preferred by the small to medium sized enterprises, non-automotive enterprises and those based outside of the US and Canada." |
|
In August, 2002 CTI Communications introduced a new software program called EBMX-HTTPs. This program is oriented to approved suppliers and/or vendors required to send or receive business documents to/from Chrysler Corporation. CTI's EBMX program is especially oriented towards suppliers (e.g., manufacturing companies, collection agencies, Banks, Credit Unions and other financial institutions, law offices, etc.) requiring proprietary formatted data, but also handles direct material production EDI data suppliers as well. Platforms supported: PC, NT/XP, UNIX and Linux. Markets supported: U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. This low cost application program saves the Chrysler supplier and/or its EDI Software House from doing their own programming and integrating a similar program into their individual EDI application(s). The EBMX HTTPs program from CTI Communications has many special features including a Sweep New Files capability so you can separate the new from the older files. There's also a Command Line capability for sending files without using the standard user interface. To send, invoke the program with the three command line arguments ReceiverID FileType SendFileName. Also, the program supports Proxy Servers - it does not, however, support spaces in the receive file path (this is a Java issue). |
Here are sample screen shots of CTI's EBMX program...

The EBMX HTTPs program takes the work out of establishing the communications link into Chrysler's worldwide tele-communications network. In all data files can be directed to/from any directory/folder on your I.P. network. You also have control as to downloading files... |

|
CTI Communications can also provide unique, custom program interfaces. Fill in This Form and tell us what you want. Chrysler requires your company must have to have an existing account on the Chrysler Supplier Network (SPIN) to gain access to the EBMX. Your SPIN account will be used to authenticate and gain access through the CX (Chrysler eXchange) firewall into the EBMX environment. After filling-in a few fields from the Setup menu (User Id, Password, etc.) you can be immediately connected into the EBMX system (click for more)... |

| After your initial testing is completed with Chrysler and you're approved for production, you just fill-in the Software Registration Form below and you can go into production mode. |

| If you ever get in trouble, there's a built-in E-mail Request for Support link that puts you directly in touch with the Technical Support Department. |

|
If you are interested in having an EBMX linkage into Chrysler, you must call the Chrysler North American Help Desk at 800-332-9978. Press 1 and have your existing Supplier Code and ID available. You will then be routed to the EBMX Help Desk where they will handle your request.

| From Mexico:
English translation... Over the past 10 months we have been successfully using the EBMX HTTPs for electronic document interchange (EDI) with Chrysler's EBMX System. This one system connects through the Internet using the HTTP/S protocol. The program is very friendly and is open since it allows to the user to specify the directories of shipment and reception, as well as to specify the name of incoming archives for EDI. This was important for us since it facilitated the process of import to our system. Another functionality of the program is that it allows us to see the content of our mailbox at Chrysler, to see the documents that we have received, those that are pending to receive and to be able to again ask for the reception of a document that has been received previously. I think that the EBMX HTTPs is an excellent program due to its functionally and effectiveness to communicate with EBMX system at Chrysler. René Lozano, PRAX Consultores 5/9/2003 |

From Canada "Just to give you an update - after configuring our proxy server, our installation of your EBMX program went very smoothly. Testing with Chrysler on both their test server and their production server went through the first time without a problem. Your program is very easy to set up and use. And, your support has been great. Thanks!" Gordon Dickie, Yale Industrial Lift Trucks, Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada |

Questions/Answers 1- Is your EBMX program multi-user Capable? Answer: The program is tied to a Chrysler supplier's logon, so only one supplier is licensed to use the software. However, the software can be installed on multiple workstations at the vendor's site so that multiple users could use the software for a single vendor. 2- Can Chrysler push the data to customer too? Answer: No, the supplier must initiate the connection for both downloading and uploading of files. This is not AS2 protocol, it's HTTPs (HTTP over SSL). 3- Is it possible to make the connectivity and handling automatic? Answer: Yes, it is possible to make the uploading and downloading of the data automatic through the implementation of a command-line interface. That interface will be added in the near future. 4- Does your EBMX program eliminate the need for an EDI translator? Answer: No. The EBMX program handles only your communications requirements to/from the Chrysler Host Mainframe. So, you still must maintain some translating capabilities to put the document(s) into a format you can understand (and vice versa). |

Other background information --- In 1993, CTI Communications worked with the Chrysler MIS Department to establish a similar program called CTI-CADX which provided hundreds of Chrysler production suppliers a simplified CAD file exchange to Chrysler's Engineering Technical Center. This was a very successful program. We also provide the CTI-CTX and EBMX programs to help Chrysler EDI and Financial based suppliers interface into the CX mainframe at Chrysler's Telecommunications' data center.
