[Print these pages off for reference]

Here are some general directions to add extended command line arguments to your FastSync 3780 program.

Go to the directory where your FastSync 3780 is located, and key in cmdline and press <ENTER>.   You will be presented with the Menu shown below.

Main Menu

PROGRAM EXAMPLES

Suppose you want to add a REPORT (log file) capability to your system.  A report will show you what has gone on during your last on-line session.  Arrow down to .REPORT and press <ENTER>.

The .REPORT command has been added to your extended command line.  Your screen will look like the one below.

Next press <ESC> key to Save and Exit the menu.

Other Options, such as adding a TRACE FILE are accomplished in the same way.  If you add the trace capabilities through the CMDline program, please name your "trace.fil,." while this is not mandatory, but it makes it easier for CTI to  help you.

Changing Default AutoSync2 to AutoSync1

(Note - This is an option that you should not implement unless you discuss it with CTI first)

Another example.  Suppose, either because of poor telephone lines, or a PBX that cannot handle the data throughput, or the Host system cannot go faster than 9,600 baud, you want to lower your modem speed on the Hayes OPTIMA modem from 28,800 bps to 9,600 bps.  [Note this will work only on the Hayes OPTIMA modem which is using the AutoSync protocol on one of CTI's AutoSync based products such as the SyncPack2000e].  Go to the directory where your FastSync 3780 is located, and key in cmdline and press <ENTER>.  Arrow down to User Entered Option and press <ENTER>.  Note: Do Not use with Win2000 or NT operating systems.

cmdline-user1.gif (8993 bytes)

At the bottom of this screen an empty window appears.  This is where you enter .autosync (as shown), then press <ENTER>.

cmdline-user2.gif (9055 bytes)

You will notice that what you entered is now on the right hand side of the screen.

Next press <ESC> key to save and exit the menu.

Deleting Current Command Line Options

Arrow down to Delete A Current Option and press <ENTER>.

cmdline-delete1.gif (9112 bytes)

Whatever is on the right hand side of the screen will pop-up.  For example, .autosync1 as shown below.

cmdline-delete2.gif (6224 bytes)

Select what you want to remove, and press <ENTER>.  Then press <ESC> and you will return to the Main Menu.
