Com-Link  is seamless once it is setup with the AI program from GXS.  Pricing starts at $1,595 for a two linkage (non-bisync version) package

CTI Communications is a GXS Global Alliance Partner

Once this Com-Link program is setup, it becomes integrated inside GXS' Application Integrator program and is afterward seamless to the user.  All of your communication needs are then handled from within the Application Integrator program itself.

Many Value Added Networks and other business partners can be accessed using Async, FTP, HTTPs or Bi-Sync communications through the Com-Link program(s).  Before installing you particular program, here is a list of information that you need to gather before trying to install Com-Link:
  • If you are using CLEO A+ (Asynchronous) software program, we need to know where you installed it (normally this program is installed under "Program Files," in a "cleo-aplus" folder, but you may have installed it elsewhere);
  • Location of AI software;
  • Control Server ID from AI software;
  • Phone number, logon password, etc. for each VAN you plan on using, or the IP address for either your FTP or HTTPs partner.

Here's what DSI Toys said about the Com-Link program... "One of my biggest concerns when it came time to purchase an EDI package was integration.  I wanted the ability to translate, communicate, and schedule them all in one program.  CTI Communications has enabled me with this ability.  By integrating CTI's Com-Link package with Application Integrator, I can perform all these actions and schedule them from one program.  My Wal-Mart and GEIS comm scripts have worked perfectly.  CTI Communications has performed above and beyond the call of duty with supporting me with installation, setup, and with any customizations I have needed.  I'm very thankful for coming across the GE(GXS)/CTI partnership.  Thanks again."  Brett Pate, EDI Coordinator, DSI Toys, Inc.

Note: Com-Link is available with a ICCNet Winn-Dixie FTP link.

Here are some Com-Link Screen Shots for your review

You begin with the "Setup" button.  This is done once to interface into AI and it covers all VANs.

You need to specify the location of various programs.  For example, where both the Inbox and Outbox are located  Don't forget the Control Server ID.

If you select a VAN within the list (GXS highlighted here), its configuration will pop-up.

Next, just filling-in the blanks ... phone number, your ID , Logon, Password, etc. as provided your by your VAN administrator.

The screen shown on the right will, under normal circumstances, never be used because you will schedule your communications from within the Application Integrator program.  So don't bother with these selections unless you plan on operating Com-Link  manually outside of AI.  Click "OK" after your selections.

This is your next screen.  It only asks that you confirm that you're sure that the AI program is, in fact, installed where you specified.  If you have, for example, installed AI on drive D, then you would specify that particular drive.

You will then be returned to the Main Menu...

Note:  It's very important that the Com-Link settings and the settings specified within the Application Integrator programs match each other.

Further, users will have to contact AI Support and obtain two files - ask for the patches for the "CTI/Cleo Communications Software." The files are: 1.  OTMsgU1.mdl  2. TradeGuide.jar

If you use the Cleo A+ program, the detailed "Configurator" Menu within the CLEO A+ program offers several options and selections, that you may or may not have to modify.  The program is shown here for reference purposes.  To bring up this program, click on Start, Programs, Cleo A+ (Cleo A+ Configurator).
