Importance of Date Format Consistency |
| Problem: Clients can send files into the I.P Post Office Hub Server, but the clients can't receive the files! Also, there are "funny" looking characters showing-up in the Sessions screen report on the Hub Server. What's seems to be the problem here? |
In evaluating the information you gave me this morning, I am positive the problem you are seeing has something to do with compatibility issues regarding the date/time format on your computers. This seems especially likely since this is the first system we have installed in Greece.
To confirm what is happening, check the date format on each computer on which you are experiencing this problem, including the Hub NT Server computer. You can get this information by opening Control Panel, then opening the Regional Settings applet, then going to the Date page. Make sure the date/time format is consistent on all computers.
It may also be helpful to ascertain how your Master Database is interpreting dates. If you have Microsoft Access 97 installed on your hub computer make sure the date/time format here is also set to the same format on your other computers.
