GM-BARS Mailbox System for Obtaining Quick Payments
|
The CTI-BARS system accelerates the billing cycle into General Motors for timely payments to aid your company's cash flow. |
|
In 1993, General Motors revamped its Billing and Accounts Receivable System ("BARS") to allow their outside vendors and certain GM internal organizations to send Invoice and Enrollment data electronically over standard telephone lines. This new system, working through the EDS ELITTM mailbox system, is designed to reduce data-entry errors and speed up the time between invoicing and receiving payment. With the CTI-BARS™ system, the user needs to enter only a few keystrokes to either send data to the BARS system or to receive all files waiting at GM.
CTI Communications provides an inexpensive and effective computer based menu-driven software (with related hardware) interface into the BARS mailbox system which insulates the user from the complexities of the mailbox. There are three components that make-up the total CTI-BARS interface:
CTI-BARS Software Program - The User Interface;
Data Communications Software - CTI's FastSync® 3780 bisynchronous protocol; and
Modem - a Hayes OPTIMA 336 - combination synchronous & asynchronous modem. The latter two components are part of CTI SyncPack2000e package.
Telephone Interface: The GM/EDS ELIT mailbox system operates over standard, dial-up Bell type lines.
Site Preparation: Install a standard dial-up (switched) POTS phone line. Click for ORDER FORM
