What's the potential "problem" with this particular
package? It requires that your PC have either an ISA or EISA bus to
insert the modem board into. Some of the newer PCs do not have
this appropriate bus slot.
The SyncPack 2000i package consists of CTI's world famous and
fastest 3780 BSC Software along with one of the worlds fastest internal modem handing
synchronous type communications - the Hayes OPTIMA 336 Business Modem. This modem includes
both Asynchronous (230,400 bps) and Synchronous capabilities (28,800 bps - 33,600
bps), plus V.17 FAX. The Asynchronous side of the package also provides Password
Security, Dial-Back and Remote Configuration.

SyncPack 2000i Package - Two Basic Components:
1. FastSync® 3780 Software (enhanced version with Hayes AutoSync®
protocol). This is a special Asynchronous and Bi-synchronous software version
that handles on-the-fly character translation. Also, this software is Y2K Compliant.
2. Internal® 336 V.34+ Business
Modem.
This modem supports both Asynchronous and Synchronous
communications with speeds up to 33,600 bits per second using CTI’s 3780
bi-synchronous software with a special EPROM provided by CTI and 230,400 bps using
asynchronous software and V.42bis data compression.
About The FastSync 3780 File Transfer Software
FastSync 3780 is an easy to learn, easy to use, powerful, and
feature rich 3780/2780 IBM Remote Job Entry (RJE) file transfer program for
Micro-to-Mainframe and PC-to-PC communications. The basic bisync code was initially
developed in the 1970s and has now matured into a true third generation software product
replacing our other PC/3780and 3780FastTM programs for
most applications. FastSync 3780 is designed for absolutely error free data
communications.

Overview
Very fast - can save substantial time
and money over long distance telephone lines. Bi-Sync speeds up to 33,600 bps.
And, standard Asynchronous speeds up to 115,200 bps can be achieved
depending upon telephone line quality.
The standard 3780 text based
software has Remote Control capability.
This is a great time saver and allows technical and/or customer support personnel to
"take-over" a customer's remote computer for trouble shooting. This is a
helpful feature for application software houses.
The text based 3780 software is Function Key driven for quick and easy
interactive file transfer - or do everything automatically through user specified command
files.

OPTIMA 336 Business Modem supports both ITU-T V.34 and V.34bis
standards along with V.42 Error-Control and V.42bis Data Compression.

modem throughput tests, the Hayes OPTIMA consistently transferred a graphics file at
200,000 bit/s. This means sending over one megabyte under a minute.
