Tips pertaining to Win2k Operating System

The most popular package for 3780 File Transfers is the SyncPack2000e

Problem.  Your Windows 3780 version software installed perfectly but the modem is not responding.  What's wrong?

Solution.  Sounds like you have one of the cheap (free) async modems inside your PC that isn't giving-up the IRQ (interrupt service request) so you can use your external Hayes Optima modem.  Since you can use the external  Hayes Optima modem for both synchronous as well as asynchronous communications, we recommend that you remove your internal modem and where necessary, re-configure your applications to use the external Hayes modem..

Problem.  We are trying to install the FastSync Windows 3780 version with the Optima modem.  We initially installed the package with the administrator account and it worked fine, but when we log on with the user account, the program sends "Software has not been installed properly...."  Where do we need to give the user account rights to override this error?

Solution.  Sounds like Windows 2000. Microsoft has produced a multi-user operating system just like Unix.  Your System Administrator needs to give the user Administrative rights to the computer.  That will allow the user to install the software. Once that is done, the user will be able to run the software.  Windows 2000 really isn't an OS that can be run and maintained by users.  Even Microsoft admits that.

Problem.  We have a rather old copy of the DOS version of FastSync 3780.  We just up-graded to Windows2000,  but your software isn't working right.

Solution.  You need to obtain a newer version of the DOS software - assuming your Annual Support & Maintenance is up-to-date.  Call us with your Serial Number.  Better yet, up-grade to the Windows version of FastSync 3780.
