Corporate Version

Need to access more than one mailbox at Wal-Mart? CTI offers Wal-Mart Connect Mailbox Suppliers and Vendors a special corporate version Wal-Mart Access Program for using 3780 BSC Remote Job Entry Software and Bi-Sync Modem Hardware

The Corporate Version of the Wal-Mart Access program allows the user more than a single Wal-Mart Supplier I.D.   For example, you may need a U.S. supplier code and a Canadian supplier code.  This version of the software would handle that particular situation.

Checking the "Normalized" boxes replaces CR/LF (carriage return and line feed) sequences with a tilde.  The tilde segment terminator is standard in EDI.  GE considers it the responsibility of the communications program to handle these segments rather than the EDI program itself.  Note: Wal-Mart's New Area Code is 479.

Configuration/Setup Information

The multiple site Wal-Mart Access version stores the individual ini files for each supplier (or entity description) in a subdirectory called c:\wal-mart\suppliers.  The Suppliers directory is created automatically when you save the first supplier.

To create a supplier, press the button "Choose Supplier" on the main dialog and then press the button "New Supplier."  You are prompted for the name of the new supplier.  Enter it and press OK to return to the main menu.

Note: If you entered and saved your data and find that you made a mistake (for example, spelling a company name incorrectly), you will need to remove the particular profile in the c:\wal-mart\supplier folder (using Windows Explorer) and then re-enter the data over again.

Then, take the selection "Set System Defaults" to enter the information for that supplier.  When you save the system default settings by pressing "Save Changes" the settings are saved as the current default settings and an ini file in the Suppliers sub-directory is created.

After that, the name of the supplier you just created appears in the selection list whenever you press the "Choose Supplier" button.

The software can be run from the command line using the following arguments:

  • RCVE SupplierName (for Receive)
  • FileName SupplierName (to send FileName)

AUTOMATION: Click for information covering automating the send and receive functions.
