This is the only such user interface in the industry designed specifically for Wal-Mart vendors.  No more fooling around with complicated scripts.  We used to offer free scripts, but even if the scripts are free, they must be changed from time to time.  Do you want to do this?  I don't think so.

On June 5, 2002, said "One of my biggest concerns when it came time to purchase an EDI package was integration.  I wanted the ability to translate, communicate, and schedule them all in one program.  CTI Communications has enabled me with this ability.  By integrating CTI's CommLink package with Application Integrator, I can perform all these actions and schedule them from one program.  My Wal-Mart and GEIS comm scripts have worked perfectly.  CTI Communications has performed above and beyond the call of duty with supporting me with installation, setup, and with any customizations I have needed.  I'm very thankful for coming across the GE/CTI partnership.  Thanks again."  Brett Pate, EDI Coordinator, DSI Toys, Inc.

On April 24, 2001, CTI received this testimonial..."I came into our company recently and the first problem I faced was adding EDI capabilities to our systems.  You folks at CTI were very responsive and courteous and we had all of our equipment within a few days of first contacting you with general questions.  Once the equipment got here, I read the instructions and was pulling test documents [from Wal-Mart] within minutes.  I have a lot of experience in the computer field and rarely has any project gone so smoothly.  Thanks again." Jason Bogart-Palmisano, IS Manager, Westcon Contact Lens Co.

On March 28, 2000, Phil Townsend, Cantel Computer Corporation (an EDI Software House in Montreal), established a new record in setting-up and testing into us with his new SyncPack2000e.  He took less than 3 minutes (normally this takes about 10 to 20 minutes). The old record was held by the Dallas Morning News at 3.5 minutes.

On March 6, 2000, we received an E-mail from Ken Lee, Information Technologies Manager, TSN, Incorporated who is using Sterling's GenTran Director, said "As soon as we received the software I had it up and pulling all of our EDI [from Wal-Mart & McLane Divisions] the next day. I also found the technical staff to be very knowledgeable when I had questions.  Thank you for a great product."

On August 5, 1999 we were contacted by Len Church, President of UNION DATA SYSTEMS, who implemented our SyncPack2000e package in under 30 minutes including installation, creation of appropriate command files, and testing with Wal-Mart.

New Features/Additions

5/11/02 Version of Wal-Mart Access Program

  • There is now an option to update each of the store lists on the Addresses and Messages menu on a week-by-week basis. Wal-Mart makes updates to the US, Canada and International store lists available every week. The customer can choose to download those upgrades each week. If a customer misses a week, the only way to get that week back is to download the entire list and begin weekly updates again.
  • Additional command line arguments are provided to pick up the 816  (store and addresses) updates. They are GetUSStores, GetCanadaStores and GetInternationalStores.
  • The shell to FastSync is now a direct call to the exe. For Windows customers, this means that the DOS screen will not appear.
  • The stores and addresses menus (both the full list and the updates) can be moved to the inbox through the Export GLN List buttons in the Addresses and Messages menu. They automatically use the receive file name, so they can be imported easily into your EDI package.
  • A log containing all the status responses from FastSync send and receive functions is created. The log has the name WalmatAccess_Month.log.

Checking the "Normalized" boxes replaces CR/LF (carriage return and line feed) sequences with a tilde.  The tilde segment terminator is standard in EDI.  GE considers it the responsibility of the communications program to handle these segments rather than the EDI program itself.  Note: Wal-Mart's New Area Code is 479.
