FastSync 3780 Software for Windows |

| Finally, a friendly Windows based 3780
package! Our 3780 BSC
programmer - Ted
Egan, has over 15 years experience writing, designing and supporting 3780
communications software. The new Windows 32-bit user interface has been designed as
a flexible, easy to understand 3780 program with meaningful screens and error
messages. No more cryptic 3780 messages or hard to decipher screens! CTI's powerful
scripting language is integrated into the program allowing the user to create both simple
and sophisticated commands that can fully automate your file transfer process. And, as a bonus, you don't need to operate with a synchronous interface card or "SyncCable" such as other 3780 systems require. All you need is FastSync software and our OPTIMA Business Modem with your CTI package. No more opening your PC to insert a sync-card, no more special synchronous cable, no more worry about having enough IRQs or I/O addresses. You can use any com port for both synchronous and asynchronous communications. Speeds to 33,600 bps are supported synchronously, and 115,200 bps asynchronously. |
CTI's 3780 bisynchronous software for the Windows 32-bit environment enables a Windows95 or Windows NT user to emulate an IBM 2780/3780 RJE (Remote Job Entry) Workstation. The user can establish a link into a host mainframe computer system or into another PC for PC-to-PC communications. The program supports the patented Hayes AutoSync Protocol on CTI's SyncPack2000e so you do not require the use of either an internal or external synchronous device.

STRUCTURED AROUND THE USER'S NEEDS
Windows FastSync consists of two parts, a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) and an application that presents the user's interface along with access to the features of our DLL. Customizing the appearance or behavior of the application or incorporating FastSync into your company's own applications is easy, since all 3780 functionality is contained within a separate DLL.
COMPATIBLE WITH COMMAND FILES FROM DOS VERSION
Command files from the DOS version will run without any changes under the Windows version of FastSync. The DLL itself can accept DOS FastSync commands, making the job of converting your applications to CTI's windows version that much easier.
SIMPLIFIED USER INTERFACE FOR INTERACTIVE SESSIONS.
The main screen gives the user a choice between an interactive session and running, creating or modifying command files. During interactive sessions, a simplified user interface gives each user access to dialing, auto answer, sending and receiving files.
COMMAND BUFFERING IN INTERACTIVE MODE
During Interactive Sessions, commands can be queued in advance without having to wait for one command to complete before starting another command. For example, users can enter commands to send or to receive data while the modem is dialing a remote computer.
PHONE NUMBERS MAINTAINED IN A DROP-DOWN LIST
After a phone number is entered during an interactive session, the phone number and a description of the remote are automatically added to a drop down list. So that the next time you need to dial that number, it can be simply selected from this drop down list.
Descriptions can be added when the phone number is entered or when the session is over. Phone numbers without descriptions are not added to the list.
The description can either precede the phone number, or can follow it. For example, both of the following examples are legitimate phone numbers:
- XYX Corporation 1-222-555-1212 or
- 1-222-555-1212 XYX Corporation
Either format is allowable (with/without using parentheses around the area code). The most recently used phone numbers are always at the top of your list.
SEARCH DIRECTORIES AND WILD CARDS IN A DROP DOWN LIST FOR SENDING
FILES
Once a search directory, or a search path plus wild cards has been entered, it is included within a drop down list. Files can be selected for transmission without ever touching the keyboard!
The most recently used search paths are always at the top of your list.
RECEIVE FILE NAMES IN A DROP DOWN LIST.
Once a Receive file name has been entered, it is automatically added to a drop down list which can be used to select receive file names during future sessions.
The most recently used receive file names are always at the top of your list.
